Thailand Elite Visas

Overview

The Thailand Elite Visa has become a popular choice for those seeking long-term residency in Thailand and for those who frequently travel in and out of the country.

Available only through membership packages, the Thailand Elite Visa is issued under the Thailand Privilege Program, operated by the government-owned Thailand Privilege Card Co., Ltd. (TPC). It is classified as a Privilege Entry Visa (PE) under the Tourist Visa category and grants a 5-year stay with multiple entries. Depending on the selected membership package, it can be renewed once or more times for a total stay period of 5 to 20 years in Thailand.

When compared to other long-term visa categories, the Thailand Elite Visa stands out not only for its extended validity but also for its lower barriers of entry, faster approval times, and immigration privileges that cover everything from priority airport services to options for immediate family members. In addition, TPC continues to provide members with special deals and discounts to make living in Thailand more comfortable and rewarding.

Overview of the Thailand Privilege Memberships

The Thailand Privilege Program offers 5 membership tiers, each differing in duration, benefits, and membership fees. Some packages also allow immediate family members to be included under the primary membership. The table below provides a breakdown of each package:

Membership Tier Membership Validity Main Member (Standard Fee) Additional Member (Standard Fee) Annual Allotment of Privilege Points
Thailand Privilege Bronze Membership (Limited-Time Only) 5 Years 650,000 THB
Thailand Privilege Gold Membership 5 Years 900,000 THB 20
Thailand Privilege Platinum Membership 10 Years 1,500,000 THB 1,000,000 THB 35
Thailand Privilege Diamond Membership 15 Years 2,500,000 THB 1,500,000 THB 55
Thailand Privilege Reserve Membership 20 Years 5,000,000 THB 2,000,000 THB 120

Note: Because the Bronze membership does not include an annual allotment of Privilege Points, members of this tier do not have access to the Thailand Privilege Points System, a reward system that is available to other tiers. This exclusion accounts for the Bronze’s lower membership fee, though holders will still receive many of the same luxury benefits and conveniences offered across other tiers.

Current 2025 Promotions for All Thailand Privilege Members

In July 2025, TPC introduced a series of limited-time promotions to make the program more attractive to long-term residents, digital nomads, and expatriate families seeking streamlined immigration solutions with premium lifestyle benefits, while reinforcing its position as one of the leading long-term visa options in Thailand:

  • Bronze Membership Extended: The availability of the Thailand Privilege Bronze membership, which was originally set to end on June 30, has been extended until December 31, 2025.
  • Bronze Membership Upgrade Promotion: Holders of the legacy Elite Family Excursion (EFE) and Elite Family Alternative (EFA) packages with visas expiring by September 2026 can upgrade to the Thailand Privilege Bronze membership for 450,000 THB per person. This offer runs until May 31, 2026, and the Bronze membership will be added to the remaining validity of the existing legacy package, ensuring members do not lose any time when upgrading in advance.
  • Family Add-On Promotion: Members and applicants of the Platinum, Diamond, and Reserve membership tiers can add immediate family members to their membership for 500,000 THB per person until September 30, 2025.

Benefits of the Thailand Elite Visa

All Thailand Privilege memberships include a set of core benefits that make life in Thailand more convenient, enjoyable, and stress-free. These baseline privileges are available to every tier and serve as the foundation of the program:

  • Expedited Immigration Processing: Fast-track immigration services at major international airports in Thailand, including Suvarnabhumi (Bangkok), Chiang Mai, and Phuket.
  • Elite Personal Assistant (EPA): Unlimited airport assistance in Thailand for a smoother travel experience.
  • Member Contact Center (MCC): A dedicated hotline for assistance with membership-related inquiries.
  • Elite Personal Liaison Service (EPL): Support with administrative tasks throughout the duration of the membership.
  • 90-Day Reporting: Support with mandatory 90-day reporting at the TPC Head Office in Bangkok or at representative offices in other provinces.
  • Chaeng Watthana Lounge: Exclusive lounge access at the Chaeng Watthana Immigration Office for added comfort during visa-related procedures.
  • Monthly Rewards and Special Offers: Regular deals and discounts across leisure, dining, shopping, healthcare, and more. Recent promotions have included skin care treatments and spa programs, with new offers featured in the monthly Thailand Privilege newsletter.

Thailand Privilege Points System

Each Thailand Privilege membership tier (save for Bronze) comes with an annual allotment of Privilege Points that are automatically renewed at the start of every calendar year. For example, members of the Gold tier receive 20 points each year, with the balance resetting to 20 regardless of how many points were used in the previous year.

These points can be redeemed for a wide range of free perks and benefits from the Thailand Privilege Points System, which TPC organizes into 5 categories: Stay, Travel, Leisure, Health & Wellbeing, and Wealth. Examples from each category include:

  • Stay: Discounts on hotel dining and hotel nights
  • Travel: Access to exclusive airport lounges, airport transfers, domestic flights, boat and car rentals
  • Leisure: Personal assistants at shopping centers, golf rounds, river cruises, movie tickets, and access to exclusive events
  • Health & Wellbeing: Spa treatments, fitness memberships, wellness packages, and comprehensive health or dental checkups
  • Wealth: Wealth advisory sessions, networking opportunities, and insurance packages

Eligibility Requirements for the Thailand Elite Visa

Before you can apply for the Thailand Elite Visa, you must first meet the eligibility requirements set by TPC. These requirements are designed to confirm that applicants are suitable for the program and compliant with Thai immigration standards:

  • Hold a valid foreign passport; all nationalities are eligible except those from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea). The passport must have a minimum of 1 year of validity remaining at the time of submission
  • Have no history of significant visa overstays in Thailand
  • Have no record of criminal convictions, bankruptcy, or being declared mentally unfit
  • Have not previously been granted a Thailand Volunteer Visa

Thailand Elite Visa Required Documents

If you meet the eligibility requirements, you can then move on to preparing and submitting the following documents as part of your Thailand Elite Visa application:

  • Membership Application Form – completed and signed for your chosen package
  • Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) Form – signed to authorize the handling of your personal information
  • Application Fee Payment Form – signed confirmation of your membership application fee payment
  • Passport Bio Page – a color copy showing your signature clearly
  • Recent Photograph – passport-sized, in color, taken within the past 6 months against a plain white background

Additional documents, depending on your circumstances:

  • Family Applications – proof of relationship, such as marriage or birth certificates, if including immediate family members
  • Education Visa Holders – a signed acknowledgement form along with documents from your educational institution if you currently hold, or have previously held, a Thailand Education Visa

How to Apply for the Thailand Elite Visa

The application process for the Thailand Elite Visa is relatively straightforward compared to other long-term visa categories. Here is an overview of the steps involved:

  • Preparing and Submitting the Application: Collect the required documents and submit your application for the membership package of your choice through the official Thailand Privilege website.
  • Undergoing the Background Screening: After your application has been received, Thai immigration authorities will conduct a background screening that typically takes between 4 and 6 weeks to complete. If approved, you will receive an official approval letter along with instructions on how to pay the membership fee.
  • Completing Payment and Activating Membership: After the payment has been processed, you will receive a welcome letter and Membership ID. These will allow you to have the Thailand Elite Visa affixed to your passport, which can be done in one of the following ways:
    • Upon arrival at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, Phuket, or Chiang Mai International Airport.
    • Within Thailand, with assistance from a Thailand Elite agent at the Immigration Bureau in Bangkok.
    • At a Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate abroad, if you had applied from outside of Thailand.

Upgrading to the Thailand Privilege Bronze Membership

If you are in the process of applying for another Thailand Privilege membership but decide that the Bronze tier is a better fit, you may switch your application as long as the membership fee has not yet been paid.

To do this, you will need to cancel your current application and submit a new form specifically for the Bronze membership. However, if the membership fee has already been paid, switching to the Bronze tier is no longer possible.

On the other hand, if you choose to start with the Bronze membership, you will still have the option to upgrade to a higher tier at a later stage. This approach allows you to first experience the program’s core benefits while retaining the flexibility to transition to a membership that offers extended visa validity and full access to the Thailand Privilege Points System.
