New 4.3B THB international hospital to be built in Northern Phuket

Thailand’s top hospital - Bumrungrad International Hospital (BIH) is investing B4.3 billion in a boutique hospital with 150 beds in Phuket’s Mai Khao. This investment is driven by the hospitals assessment of Phuket's ongoing development as a a growing medical tourism destination.

The acquisition of 16.3-rai site has already been finalized and announced last July by David Boucher, BIH’s Chief Partnerships Officer, at the British Chamber of Commerce Thailand (BCCT) Multi-Chamber Phuket Evening on Medical Tourism.

It will be located opposite Blue Canyon Country Club in Phuket, just 3 kilometers from the Phuket International Airport.

Now the first renders for the new hospital had become available.

BIH is obviously betting big on the new project and wants it to become a landmark in its own right (note the oversized lettering on the rooftop - to make it clearly visible from the planes approaching nearby Phuket International Airport).

Bumrungrad International Hospital Phuket is only a part of a bigger effort by Thai government and Phuket private sector to transform the island into a world-class wellness destination. It will join the government’s 5 billion THB international medical hub investment initiative (also located in Mai Khao).
