The Residences at InterContinental Phuket is a new collection of paradise-set private luxury residences from one of the world’s most iconic luxury hotel brands.

The residences - just 111 apartments over 3 buildings - will be located on the grounds of the existing InterContinental Phuket Resort, and enjoy the resort’s beach access and facilities.

InterContinental needs no introduction. It’s one of the icons that define what a luxury hotel means to us today; its properties woven into the pages of history and public mind, a backdrop to many a momentous occasion, meeting and celebration.

Founded in 1946 by international travel pioneer Juan Trippe, InterContinental Hotels was created at a time when air travel was transforming global exploration. By the time InterContinental in Riyadh opened in 1975, its popularity was such that Forbes Magazine described it as ‘the most difficult hotel to get a room’ in the world. Its history in Thailand predates that - Siam InterContinental Bangkok opened in 1965. Today they have 8 locations in the Kingdom: Bangkok, Pattaya, Hua Hin, Koh Samui, Phuket, Khao Yai and Chiang Mai.

InterContinental had entered the branded residences scene with InterContinental Residences Hua Hin, developed by Proud Real Estate. And now Proud brings the same success story to Phuket.

The residences

The Residences at InterContinental Phuket Resort comprise two 7-storey condominium buildings and one 3-storey facilities building located at the back of the resort.

The developer - Proud Real Estate PLC - invited top design firms for this developer: architecture is crafted by Habita Architects, landscape design by PLA, interior design by PIA Interior. From the beginning the residences were envisioned as a seamless part of the hotel, fully integrating it in the original design concept.

The designers of the resort originally envisioned the hotel as a symbolic heaven on earth, its gardens - the Garden of Eden. The residences then become the Far East paradise - the edge of Heaven where ordinary life is elevated beyond ordinary. The grounds and common areas are inspired by the mythical Himmapan Forest, where sacred plants of the three worlds coexist in harmony with local flora. This creates a landscape that is both lush and symbolic - a natural sanctuary that reflects the cosmology of heaven and earth.

The design and architecture reinterpret Phuket’s Sino-European and Peranakan heritage in a contemporary way, with distinctive step-cornered forms that echo the rhythm of the island's cultural past while embracing modern elegance. To bring that heritage to 21st century the developer uses cutting edge tech, from modern materials to AquaSymphony shower, Technogym fitness equipment and advanced hydrotherapy systems.
