Ekkamai started off as one of those areas just slightly out of reach of the main central regions of the city, but still within range of them if need be: the neighboring Phrom Phong and Thonglor areas are considered one of the best and most desirable residential addresses in the city. However it came to its own prominence in recent years, with thriving food and coffee scene, some of the best bars and strong expat community. And Thonglor still remains just a street away.

It’s location in the middle of the street means that it’s a bit of a walk to BTS (1 km), however there is more to the location. See the bit above about Thonglor being nearby? The thing about Thonglor is that most of the restaurants, bars, community malls, boutique shops and other attractions are focused in the middle of the street (soi Sukhumvit 55, also known as soi Thonglor). Which makes perfect sense - Thonglor is one of the more expensive areas of Bangkok and people paying 300k+ THB/sqm for a condo are less likely to take BTS.
